Fight against cancer

The Vallformosa group is a socially responsible company that is involved in several projects to fight cancer. A Charity Dinner is held annually at Vallformosa's facilities in Vilobí del Penedès.  Vallformosa's cava bottles are also topped with special caps with messages about the fight against cancer as well as the logos of the associations we work with.

We are well aware that investing in research is to invest in the future of the people and therefore one of our main goals is to collaborate, promote and encourage cancer research. We support research to help find a definitive cure of the disease and to improve treatment and quality of life of the patient.

For this reason, the Foundation Vallformosa Family Gesco and create Prize Martin Via, in tribute to director of operations Vallformosa who died after a long fight against this disease.

The award consists of a grant (30,000 euros) aimed at research professionals in the field of pediatric oncology and adults, and that scientific arrive as quickly as possible to patients with cancer.

The Charity Dinner for the fight against cancer is an initiative of the Vallformosa winery. This is a charity event where many different organizations, companies and individuals get together to raise funds for the fight against cancer. Vallformosa has collaborated with the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) since 2007, and in 2011, it joined the Ampert association. This is a social commitment and also a tribute to Martí Via y Bertran, the director of operations at Vallformosa who died five years ago after a long fight against cancer.



Vallformosa is firmly committed to raising funds for the fight against cancer. In fact, for every bottle of cava sold, Vallformosa makes a contribution to associations around the world that are involved in the fight against cancer. In order to publicise to this charitable initiative, each bottle of cava carries one of 6 special caps that have been designed with the logo of the associations that receive the aid as well as the initiative's slogan: "Drink elegantly, act responsibly."
